Announcement Regarding Office Availability

The past few weeks we have been doing everything possible to limit the exposure of parishioners and our employees to COVID-19 while still serving our parish's mission to be disciples and make disciples of Jesus in His Church to bring His hope, truth, and glory to our community. While the office has been closed to the public, our staff members have been working in a combination of ways both remotely and on site. Last weekend, we learned that a member of our parish staff who has been working on site has tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we will transition more of our staff to working remotely for two weeks (through June 5th). We will continue to be available via email and will check our phone messages regularly and call you back in a timely manner. The only change you will experience is that we will not be able to answer the phone right away when you call or receive materials at our office. We are in contact with the Elkhart County health department and are significantly exceeding all of the recommended guidelines in order to keep our employees and parishioners safe. We have carried out all the recommended disinfecting procedures and there is no risk posed by being in our buildings. We want to assure everyone that our priests and seminarian have not been in close contact with the employee who has tested positive. We continue monitoring our own health carefully in order to avoid putting anyone else at risk. We will continue offering Holy Mass and the other sacraments according to our temporary schedule. Once our offices re-open on June 8th we will follow our summer schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the main office and Monday - Friday, 3-7 p.m. in the Hispanic Ministry Center. We are still working to determine what access to the public will be available, but you can count on a prompt response during these hours. As we continue in this new phase, we know that addressing the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. We hope that the measures in place will continue to halt the spread of the virus and bring all of us back together as soon as possible. En las últimas semanas, hemos hecho todo lo posible para limitar la posibilidad de exposición al virus para nuestros parroquianos y los miembros de nuestro personal mientras que seguimos completando nuestra misión a ser discípulos y hacer discípulos de Jesucristo en su Iglesia para llevar su esperanza, verdad y gloria a nuestra comunidad. Mientras que nuestra oficina ha estado cerrado al público, nuestros empleados han estado trabajando con una combinación de maneras remotamente y en persona. El fin de semana pasado, hemos enterrado que uno de nuestros empleados se dio positivo de COVID-19. Para tener la precaución máxima posible, hemos decidido que más de los empleados trabajarán remotamente durante las próximas dos semanas (hasta Junio 5). Seguiremos atentos a nuestros emails y mensajes de voz y les estaremos en contacto en una manera oportuna. El único cambio que Vd. experimentará será que no podemos contestar a las llamadas inmediatamente y que no podemos recibir materiales en la oficina. Estamos en contacto con el departamento de salud del contado de Elkhart y estamos excediendo significativamente todas las recomendaciones para mantener seguros a nuestros parroquianos y empleados. Queremos asegurarles a todos que los sacerdotes y seminarista de la parroquia no han estado en contacto cercano con el empleado. Cuando re-abrimos nuestras oficinas el 8 de Junio seguiremos nuestro horario de verano: Lunes - jueves 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. en la oficina central y lunes - viernes 3-7 p.m. en la oficina del ministerio hispano. Estamos trabajando todavía para determinar que acceso tendremos al público pero pueden contar un una respuesta en estas horas. Al seguir nosotros en esta nueva etapa, sabemos que la pandemia de COVID-19 no está dominada del todo. Esperamos que las medidas actuales continúen deteniendo la propagación del virus y nos una, lo antes posible, a todos nuevamente.
