What to expect at Mass starting May 23rd

We are excited to begin the public celebration of Holy Mass once again on May 23rd. Our hearts have been filled with longing for Christ's presence in the Eucharist and for the chance to praise and glorify Him through the celebration of Holy Mass. While our first priority is most emphatically the celebration of the Sacraments according to the mind of Holy Mother Church, we also want to do so as safely as possible. Before coming, then, please be aware of the following points:

If you are sick or are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, please stay home.
Entrance will be through the north doors (bank side) only.
Everyone must wear a mask except for small children and those with breathing difficulties that could be aggravated by a mask. A limited number of masks will be available for those who need one, but we ask that you bring your own.
Ushers will direct you to a pew based on the size of your family. You must sit where we direct you to sit so that we can seat as many people as possible within the social distancing guidelines.
At some Masses we will have overflow seating available in the gym. Once the church is full we will direct you to the gym. Those seated in the gym will watch a live stream of Mass and be able to receive Holy Communion.
No overflow seating will be available in the choir loft.
The cry room will not be available, due to the difficulty of maintaining social distance in this space.
The church will be cleaned after each Mass.

A significant amount research and professional opinion suggest that vigorous singing will promote spread of the virus. For this reason, there will be no choral or congregational singing at Mass. We will have instrumental music at some Masses.
Procedures for Holy Communion
At the time for Holy Communion, ushers will direct you to begin forming the Communion procession.
Please wait on the blue Xs in order to keep 6 feet between communicants.
There will be one line in the center of the aisle.
When you are two people from the front of the line, lower your mask.
You may receive Holy Communion on the tongue or in the hand.
If you receive Holy Communion on the tongue, tilt your head back, close your eyes, open your mouth wide, and slightly extend your tongue. Wait for the minister to place the Sacred Host.
If you receive Holy Communion on the hand, you may not wear gloves. Place your dominant hand beneath your other hand, holding both hands flat. Once the minister has placed the Sacred Host on your hand, immediately use your other hand to pick It up and consume It.
If the minister accidentally comes into contact with a communicant, he will immediately purify his fingers, sanitize his hands, and proceed with distributing Holy Communion once again.
At the end of Mass, please wait until your pew is released to depart in order to avoid congestion at the doorways.
The schedule of Sunday Masses has been modified to account for the limited capacity of our church. This schedule will be in effect until the end of July or as long as necessary to ensure compliance with social distancing guidelines.
Saturday, 4 p.m. (English): Reserved for those in high risk groups.
Saturday, 6 p.m. (Spanish): Reserved for those in high risk groups.
Sunday, 7 a.m. (English): Reserved for those in high risk groups.
Sunday, 9 a.m. (Spanish)
Sunday, 11 a.m. (English): Livestreamed.
Sunday, 1 p.m. (English): Livestreamed.
Sunday, 3 p.m. (Spanish): Livestreamed.
Sunday, 5 p.m. (Spanish): Livestreamed.
Our weekday schedule will return to normal from May 25th. Masses and confessions on Mondays are reserved for those in high risk categories.
Some people have inquired about the possibility of Holy Communion being brought to their homes. We are not able to do this because of the enormous amount of time that it would necessitate for our priests. In order to receive Holy Communion you must come to a Mass.

Estamos emocionados para reanudar la celebración pública de la Santa Misa el 23 y 24 de Mayo. Nuestros corazones están anhelando por la presencia real de Cristo en la Eucaristía y por la oportunidad de alabar y glorificar a Dios por medio de la celebración de la Santa Misa. Mientras que nuestra primera prioridad es enfaticamente la celebración de los Sacramentos según la mente de la Iglesia Católica, queremos hacerlo el más seguro posible. Antes de venir, entonces, esté consciente de las siguientes indicaciones:

Si Vd. está enfermo o experimenta síntomas de COVID-19, por favor, quédese en casa.

En unas Misas tendremos asientos de desbordamiento en el gimnasio. Una vez que la iglesia está llena, dirigiremos personas al gimnasio. Los que están allá participarán por transmisión en vivo y podrán recibir la Santa Comunión.
No se puede entrar en el balcón, debido a la dificultad de mantener la distancia social en este espacio.

La iglesia se desinfectará después de cada Misa.

Hay bastante búsqueda y opiniones de expertos que dice que el canto puede aumentar significativamente el riesgo de trasmitir el virus. Por esta razón, no tendremos canto en las Misas por un tiempo indeterminado.
Procedimientos para la Santa Comunión
Cuando se acerque la hora de la Comunión, los ujieres le indicarán cuando acercarse.
Forme una sola fila en el centro del pasillo central.
Cuando esté dos personas de la frente de la fila, baje su mascarilla.
Se puede recibir la Santa Comunión en la boca o en la mano.
Para recibir la Santa Comunión en la boca, puede evitar contacto con la mano del ministro por recibir en la siguiente manera: Cierre los ojos, incline la cabeza ligeramente por detrás, abre bien la boca, extiende la lengua un poco, y espera que el ministro ponga la Hostia sobre la lengua.
Para recibir la Santa Comunión en la mano, ponga la mano dominante abajo de la otra mano, llevando las dos manos bien planos. Cuando el ministro ponga la Hostia en la mano arriba, use su mano dominante para consumirLa inmediatamente.
Si el ministro accidentalmente toque a alguien, purificará sus dedos, aplicará alcohol en gel, y seguirá distribuyendo la Santa Comunión.
Al final de la Misa, espere de que los ujieres indiquen que pueden salir, para evitar amontamientos a las salidas.
El programa de las Misas dominicales se ha modificado para compensar por el limite de capacidad en la Iglesia debido a la práctica de la distancia social. El siguiente estará en efecto hasta el final de Julio o hasta previo aviso.

El programa normal de Misas, Adoración al Santísimo y confesiones entre semana resumirá lunes, 25 de Mayo. Todas las Misas y confesiones de los lunes se reserven para personas en categorías de alto riesgo.
